Car requested wasn’t ready, had to wait but not too,long. Was quoted $9 per day for LDW and estimate I was given shows that amount. When I exited lot was given a folder with more pages. That shows LDW at $12 per day. Initial calls on Saturday were futile.

All of The car’s seats were heavily stained. Additionally the cruise control did not work and the every part of car was scratched and dented including the roof.

They didn't have a full size sedan for us (despite reservation) but "upgraded" to a Nissan Kick. Wasn't really an upgrade since the suspension was terrible and the seats weren't really comfortable either. Could feel every bump in the road. Needed a kidney belt to drive in that car. On the plus side the car got good mileage, though underpowered. Staff on both ends were very nice.

The staff was very pleasant and professional. The rental experience was very smooth for me. The vehicle was clean and mechanically sound. Side Note: In the U.S. a valid DRIVER'S LICENSE is required. Please don't argue with the staff when proper documentation is not available. Learner's Permits are not permissible. International visitors will also need a passport that coincides with the country of licensing. What I didn't like.... The engineering of the vehicle. Comfort.....meh Steering.....tight/not sloppy/not smooth Switches......way too many. On the dash, Under the dash, On the console. Seat controls......too close together for small hands. Safety features......excellent The vehicle had a fuel economy feature that turns the engine off when stopped at a traffic light. It's very harsh re-engagement when you remove your foot from the brake. The steering wheel has a very sharp/harsh control ratio and lacks the smooth comfort control factor that most vehicles in the compact SUV class has. I've made a mental note to choose something different the next time I rent a vehicle from Alamo.

Heads up fellow travellers! Look in the trunk of your rental car BEFORE you leave the pick up location. Be sure to find out if there is a spare tire and/or that junky glue/self patch of a flat tire kit. Be sure to check the glue bottle! Nothing like getting a car with no spare and and empty glue bottle and discovering this only after you find you have a flat tire. Also - be sure to ask if their roadside assistance service and 800 number are 24-hour a day supported by LIVING HUMAN BEINGS.

Only one person was available to finalize my reservation, so we stood in line for a half hour or so. The drop off location was closed. There was some uncertainty by the owner of the connected auto parts store whether I should leave the car there.

Hertz did not honor the price negotiated through Kayak! They charged over $100 more than the negotiated price. The line to check in for the car was over one hour long and, once checked in, there was an additional half an hour wait because the vehicle was not ready, a truly awful experience.

Insanity at pickup. Ive never waited so long to pickup a rental car. Around 1.5-2 hours until we were in our car, and I was only like the 7th person in line. We arrived at midnight, so it was tough with our three little kids.

I set up a car reservation that the Avis JFK location did not honor and it was an absolute nightmare. Between the time of the booking and pick up day I exchanged my out of state Iowa license for a New York one. The DMV gave me the standard temporary paper license. I took a picture of the seized Out-of-State license so that I could still have photo proof of my identity. The manager at the JFK Avis location would not accept either or let me add another driver to accept the rental car. We were also informed that even if my valid license was accepted that the suv I had reserved was not available and there would be an underterminable wait. The only option I was offered was cancelling my reservation and to have my second driver book a second reservation for the only available rental which was a pickup truck with no cover which would not fit all of my items I had to move out of state. I was forced to cancel my reservation and scrambled to find a last second rental with a competitor for a much smaller car at a higher rate. I was also forced to throw away several personal belongings because they would not fit in this smaller car and was set back 5 hours on my already 20 hour move. After going back and forth with customer service over the email and phone for a week I was able to get a hold of a supervisor who at least reimbursed the difference in car rates for the competitor. I was also reimbursed for the Uber trip there and the train ride to the competitor. Keep track of all your receipts and expenses is my recommendation and ask for a customer service supervisor over the phone immediately. Save yourself the stress and go with another company altogether if you can. New York has plenty.

Straightforward booking process online. Easy to find the pick up point and we’re served instantly (it was a Friday morning and very quiet) Staff were friendly at collection and drop off. We too the offer of an upgrade and were very satisfied with our Chevrolets Equinox. Comfortable, easy to drive, good AC and I could link my phone to car play to use my phone map as Sat nav. My only negative is that we only noticed a few hours after leaving that the tank couldn’t have been full at pick up as it was supposed to be. Too late to complain though as we had no proof. Suggest costumers take a photo of the fuel gauge at pick up.

Literally everything. Inconvenient location. Unfriendly staff. First car they gave me didn’t have a working radio. The second one had stains all over the seats and garbage under the seat. Spend an extra couple dollars and rent elsewhere.

We mentioned we were going upstate and it would be snowing. We were told the car would be fine but it certainly was not!! It was so dangerous and did not grasp on to the road so several times we thought we were going to crash as we had no control over the car. we would've gladly paid more to be safe

Did not have the car that I reserved. I reserved a full size and they did not honor my reservation. All they had was a economy car. It ruined my trip. Also, the shuttle took 3 stops (30 minutes) to get to the rental parking lot. Very inconvenient.

When I arrived to pick up the car I reserved a week in advance at 9:45 AM, it was unavailable because I was "late" for my 9 AM pick up time. Economy did not contact me and was unable to offer me any assistance. They also stated they do not take walk-ins only reservations, so it was easy to determine that a car had never been available that day. Two other customers present at the time with reservations also arrived to find that there were no cars available. An abysmal experience. I can not believe Economy can run a business this way.

Terrible rental car. Car was dirty and had something mechanically wrong with it. Workers in the office are half asleep and have no personality . Definitely DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. Also price was way higher than what it said online

Car was in mediocre condition. Probably explains the good price. They tried to sell me a Fast Pass claiming if I used a toll road and didn’t have it, I’d be charged $25. Simply not true.

So checkin was quick..

That being said when I was sent out to the lot to pick up the car, the attendants were in cars listening to music. One of them refused to get out and pointed to another car. On drop off, there was no one outside. I left the headlights on pointed at the office and it took 5 minutes for someone to come out and check us out. The Kia Sorento had zero options. Really nothing. They wanted $23.95 a day for EzPass. Hertz charges $3.95

We were very angry and disappointed that we were faced with a 145% increase in our cost to rent our car due to the exhorbitant premium for an EZE Pass for the week. We were expecting to pick up our car, having already paid the rental charges and be on our way. We were then informed that if we were going thru tolls, we would be unable to pay cash. Unless we paid for the EZE pass ($226 incl taxes and fees) then we would be charged $25 for each time we went thru a toll plus the cost of the toll. We were staying with family in Arverne meaning frequent use of tolls. We were astounded - how can that kind of premium be added at pickup with no warning (e.g. we had booked the car 2 months in advance with no notice re additional cost of EZE pass.. We were also treated with shame and guilt that we would even question these charges. We would like some explanation why you would inflict this kind of usury on an unsuspecting client who rented from you in good faith. We would ask for an adjustment to the EZE portion of our bill and direct communication with the executive in your company who chose to set these rates. Chris & Charleen Evans

Arrived at the airport at 5 am only to be informed they had no cars. I had to beg to just get refunded. The attendant was incredibly inept and indifferent. Then I had to find another car from another agency and paid triple what I thought I would be paying. I will only rent from professional agencies from now on.

Your website said nothing about advantage needing a $200 deposit on top of he payment I already paid to you. My confirmation said it was pre-paid in full. I didn’t have enough credit to hold he deposit and therefore did not receive the car I rented. This was very upsetting. You should really state deposit information clearly and in bold when a person is booming through your site. I purchased insurance through your site and would like it refunded ($18) if possible. I wasted my time and close to $50 in transportation fees to get to and from the rental location.
