If you’re coming from Manila, there are generally two ways to get to Boracay, Philippines; one is from NAIA to Caticlan which takes about one hour, and the other is from NAIA to Kalibo which takes 15min longer. If you’re coming from Cebu, which is another popular point of origin, flight time to Caticlan is about 50min. There are no flights from Cebu to Kalibo, unless you want to make a stop to Manila first.
The four main carriers to score Manila to Boracay flight deals are Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Cebgo and AirAsia. All of these carriers offer non-stop flights to both Kalibo and Caticlan from Manila. From Cebu, the only direct flight available is going to Caticlan.
Coming from Kalibo is the longer route as Kalibo Airport is 59km away from Boracay. From Kalibo Airport, you’ll have to get a van or bus transfer to Caticlan Airport. You should be able to find many local operators that you can choose from right after the luggage reception. The total time it takes for the entire ride is about two hours. Once in Caticlan Airport, you’ll then have to take a ten minute ferry boat to Boracay Island’s jetty port, and from there, a quick tricycle to your accommodations. If you want the overall shorter and quicker route, we suggest booking your flights from Manila straight to Caticlan. That way, you can avoid the 2h land transfer. Though, the reason many still choose to arrive via Kalibo from Manila is because Kalibo has more flight availability compared to Caticlan.
Boracay Island is just about 10.32km² in size and you can get around every corner in just an hour. It’s been constantly heralded as one of the best beaches in the world with its white sands and swimming pool calm turquoise waters. There are so many things to do in Boracay. Aside from the obvious swimming and sunbathing, Boracay has plenty of water sports to engage in. We recommend going parasailing to get a good bird’s eye view of the island while being tugged by a speedboat. If you’d like to take your fun inland, there are lots of activities to get into, like mountain hiking, ATV driving, zip lining, and so much more. In case you want to end your day feeling pampered, there are many massage services and spas for your rejuvenation. Foodies and party lovers will also enjoy the island’s wide selection of restaurants and bars. You can go for simple local favorites like longganisa burgers, which are usually sold right by the beach, or you can go for more exquisite restaurants that serve international cuisines.
