I was assigned a Hyundai Venue. That car told me every five minutes (or less) that I needed to stop for a coffee break. This could be immediately after I stopped for a lunch or dinner, or any break, for that matter. I could not figure out how to turn that feature off despite my husband researching that over the internet. I hope someone will turn that feature off once you read this message. So, service was wonderful. I would not rent THAT car again.

When I booked the rental it stated that a Chevrolet Trailblazer was being g reserved for me. Whe I arrived to pick up the rental it was a different smaller vehicle. Not large enough for 4 adults with luggage for a cruise. Attendant let me choose a more appropriate sized vehicle. That worked out great. That was the only issue I had. Everything else worked out great.

I made my reservation same day because of last minute changes in my travel plans. When I arrived at the counter they told me they only had luxury cars available and could not rent to me unless I paid $112 extra per day. They explained that they couldn’t honor same day reservations. … which just left me wondering why they accepted them. I rented from Hertz, it was a great experience and guaranteed that I’ll never rent with Sixt!

Extremely negative experience. When I went to pick up the vehicle, Avis did not have it. They had no cars available for me, in fact, and I was stranded. Later a car was available at more than triple the reservation rate. Highly unethical.

We ordered an SUV (and paid the price of a SUV) but we’re told they didn’t have any available and we’re provided a sedan. They didn’t reduce the price to match renting a sedan. The car they gave us was damaged and smelt awful. It was obvious people had been smoking in the car.

Upon arrival we were happy that a Camry was available also the staff was very nice and friendly he suggested a restaurant to us that turned out to the highlight of our trip! I wish we could have had better communication upon return of our vehicle. The desk was unable to give us what our balance would be. We didn’t feel comfortable with just leaving the car there without any proof of return

The car was great. Drop off was good. Pick up wasn’t great. The agent was not clear on giving instructions on where the car was and didn’t ask if I wanted a print out of the contract or if I wanted it emailed. He also offered other vehicles but wasn’t clear on the additional charges that that would incur.

They did not have a car for me, even after renting the car online on May 31st. I was given a number to call and they searched the other locations and they "had" some at DFW International airport. Once I arrived to the airport I was greeted by a rude employee behind the counter that told me that even if they had a car to give me that it would be a price increase. I told them that just a few hours before I spoke with someone and they were to note my reservation that the cost was to stay the same and all I was doing was picking up at a location that showed cars available. When departing the location there were a line of unhappy guests in the same problem as I was in. I ended up having to search and found a rental but it was with a different company.

Waited for nearly an hour after arriving at the Payless rental area. They were understaffed and slow. My first car had a broken seat, broken USB port, smelled like smoke, was dirty, and covered in scratches. They offered me a smaller car immediately, which I had to take because I was late to an appointment after waiting too long. Will not use them, or Avis or Budget ever again.

The pick-up in Dallas was horrendous! The line was about 10-12 deep when we started standing in it. There was only one person at the desk and about 1.5 hours later we were able to pick up the car. There should have been at least 2 persons working the desk! Due to the delay in getting the car, we missed the family dinner that we were in Dallas to enjoy! I'll never rent another car without registering for a quick pick-up/fly through!

Customer service number is impossible to find on their website. Cancellation was not possible through hertz. I was asked to login and enter my confirmation number countless times before giving up and not finding any help. When I went in to the physical store, I was given the customer service hotline to call where I was on hold for 40 minutes only to be told I was unable to cancel my reservation. Overall terrible experience and awful customer service.

Horrible to say the least! We went thru you to book a vehicle a week in advance to show up the day of the booking to have not one vehicle available. I called Hertz and you all to find not one person helpful or accommodating to help me. I was left with out a rental I needed. All I was told was “no worries you will be refunded”and both parties sending me back and fourth to each other. Very disappointed and leaves me never trusting both parties again!

They made me wait and then began giving cars to other customers until I spoke with three different Hertz employees which took me an hour to get my car.

Horrible. They changed the size of my rental, added hidden fees, the front desk made us wait forever because he forgot he had gotten the keys to the car. We caught him talking to a coworker he had completely forgotten he had to finish taking care of us. Horrible experience, never renting with thrifty or dollar again. Alamo was great
