Upgraded to a bigger car (no small ones available) which turned out to be a dream to drive. Gave me their local telephone number so I wouldn't have to pay premium rate as I knew I would probably have to extend hire. I did extend but there was no hassle abot that - just paid an extra day's hire at the rate I'd originally booked. No delay at check in or check out. Was I just lucky with my timing?

Small scratch on the fender, no longer than an inch, Hertz charged us $150. Shameful for something that would come out with a bit of wax.

They upsild me to a GPS/Navigation system that did not work-in myriad ways. Not only was it unable to get me to my exact location, but often it would just shut down in the middle of use, and then other times it would give me a ghost direction that had nothing to do with reality. But the fact that it often just was not working, or had to reboot in mid use on its own, or just shut down on its own, was simply maddening. The fact that I had to pay for this is the end was infuriating. Very poor experience.

I ended up canceling the rental on the stop, ruining the weekend trip plans. Europcar had so much "new stuff I need to add to the order that the price went up to the roof. Not knowing in advance what the final cost will be is big trouble, Do not recommend it. Will try Sixt next tme.

Staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be. But it was slightly rushed customer service as soon as more customers arrived you were pushed to make your payment quickly. The main booking through Kyak was fine but on Europcar there were no details or information that is shown upfront about the £250 deposit? I paid £45 per day for the car which was fab and then I paid £11. For a deposit and when I arrived I had to pay the £79 which was fine. What I expected was for my bank card details to be held in case of a accident etc. But no you have to pay it upfront. I was in a hurry and hadn’t prepared for that but I paid it fine in the end but it’s quite a big deposit for 2 days hire but the daily rate was fab.

I have booked a car at a price and I ended up paying nearly double. They told me CDW wasn't included in the price, this "detail" wasn't written anywere. I didn't have a choice but to rent the car, it was night and the rental place is far away from the airport. I will never use them again in my life and I will tell everyone I know not to do so.

The customer service was good, the price invoiced by Kayak was not what was asked for on the night. It was over an extra £250 The car was not collected as this made a huge difference. The total cost should have been stated at the time of booking.

I was charged additional £140 on the airport saying that I need to have extra insurance or pay full ammount of 25k which is the car cost. If I new that when booking on kayaks website I wouldn’t even bother with that company. Won’t use them again!!!!

No helpfulness at all. Didn’t take American Express which was the only credit card I had. Staff could care less and I did not know when I rented it. Couldn’t even rent the car and still paid for the rental.

Staff could have at least worked with me and acted like they cared. Staff couldn’t have cared less as it was “my problem” to figure out how to put a deposit on a rental like that.

The car was new and the original cost was low.

While the heathrow branch is a different experience, renting in Luton is quite a headache, to say the least. For first time visitors, it is extremely difficult to find. Then, there are far too few people working, doing b oth the rental agreements and payment, and giving out/recieving cars. The worst though is the apparent directive they have been told to create extra income almost by any means necessary. This means they overcharge for everything they can (my plane was delayed, had to pay extra for arriving late. Others couldnt find the place, also had a late fee. Charged more for taking a debit card, etc.). Possibly the worst is the "damage" control on the car, where they quickly lead first time renters to look past small scratches in the car when taking them out and then amazingly find them upon return and demand exorbitant fees (150 GBP for scratches on a hubcap?). You can prepare yourself and take pictures of the car while still in the lot before you take it, but be prepared to joust with the fees they try to tack on both at the beginning and upon return.
