Quick check in. Car was cleaned and full tank. Easy to drive.

The office was closed when I dropped off the car. I was instructed to leave keys with front desk and when I did the hotel staff seemed bewildered by this. Also wish there was brief overview on how to drive the car (ie. controls like windshield, high beams, etc).

Staff at pickup and collect were rude and unhelpful. No explanations offered on how to drive the car or fill it up, seemed bemused when we asked to check it wasn’t scratched or damaged, very hard sell to buy additional insurance. The boy who checked the car then claimed we had damaged it (totally untrue). Very poor customer service. Avoid.

Ljubljana was an easy pick up. Good directions and near the center of the city. The drop off at the Vienna main train station was typically frustrating as the address given is the desk and not the drop off location. It took almost an hour of circling the main train station and my wife out trying to locate the counter- in the massive station- for her to locate the agent who gave her a small map showing the drop off location. And once we had the location- it was easy. All car rental companies are guilty of this. Please make train stations as easy as airports!

Miserable unhelpful staff, giving priority to his usual people while we explained our check in queue was very large and we could be late, didn’t bat an eyelid, over £1800 of additional charges, price increased from 53euro to 111euro, I would never use Hertz in Slovenia again, terrible service!!!

Nothing much, we returned the car at 10pm and there was no one to help us.

We were billed 50 Euros for a small black mark that would be difficult to spot during pre-inspection. We felt that this was possibly an easy loophole from Hertz to take a couple extra dollars, and previous reviews of Hertz from other renters had similar views.We ended up paying about double of what we expected when we first saw the car rental on Kayak.com
