They required me to provide a passport to rent the car, although there was nothing in the information I read prior to renting that indicated that. It just said I needed to provide an ID. This was a considerable inconvenience as I had to return to our cruise ship to retrieve the document.

The address is correct but had to call to understand that they are located on a -1 level inside a parking lot (not mentioned anywhere). They also asked me for my passport which I didn’t have with me, had my id and my driver’s license but not my passport.

Staff at front desk doesn’t speak English . The insurance coverage it was sold to me was a scam. I have been offered “full coverage “. The actual “Full coverage” has all kinds of conditions and free interpretations by the seller.. one of the mirrors was broken while parked day time and the “Full coverage insurance” did not cover it. I rented from Hertz knowing how the company operates in Canada and the USA . Chilean Franchise is a joke. I don’t recommend it at all.

The gentleman who helped me at the front desk at pick-up was exceptional. He handled my rental with efficiency, clarity, and professionally. It was unclear when I got to the airport how to contact AVIS since they have no desk. I woman from one of the other agencies had to contact AVIS on my behalf so someone could come pick me up.

Could NOT get the car, they did not accepted our official canadian ID, driver’s licence and/or our international driver’s licence (as specified that it would be required and accepted in the rental aggrement). They ONLY accept a original passport. Which we did not have because the cruise line keep them while in a cruise ship. We had an official stamped copy of our passport, and still, they did not accept it.

I was charged for a car wash. The car was dusty when returned but nothing out of the ordinary. When renting it was not easy to discover that the road tolls outside of Santiago were not included and that there was a 25% markup on the automatically read tolls. There was also an unexpected admin charge. So the daily rate for the car was artificially low. The car was new and quite luxurious for the class, opel Corsa, but the clutch was iffy even though the car had only 13000 kms on it.

would have been better if they had the car reserved and reimbursed the charge for insurance that wasn't needed because the car wasn't there to begin with. could not have been a bigger waste of time or more of a buzzkill
