Cheap Car Rentals in Virginia

Mostly smooth but was the first and only time I've been asked my collision deductible. Not knowing it, I was roped into purchasing coverage through them. Ive rented countless times both through them and other agencies and never been asked that!

They did not inform me that my car was electric. They told me to leave my keys in a box when I returned it and then proceeded to charge me an extra day.

The first car had bald tires that we weren’t comfortable driving on. We had already waited in line 25 minutes to get this car. Went back to tell them and was sent back upstairs into the airport to switch cars at the counter there. Attempted to tell them we were sent back in and they just basically ignored us. I finally stood in front of women at the counter as I wasn’t going to stand in line for 25 minutes again because they gave me a car that was unsafe to drive. While I stood there the two women talked poorly about another customer that had just left counter. Found that experience to be completely unprofessional. I won’t rent from them again.

Reservation was easy to make online. I did make it last minute as my car had to go into the shop and I needed a replacement vehicle. Everything was fine until I went out to my Volkswagen Jetta. I open the door and the smell of cigarette smoke greeted me. I went back in and attendant asked what he could help me with. I told him the car smell like smoke, and I could not be in a car like that because it gave me a headache and it made me nauseous. He said no it’s not smoke. That’s what we used to clean the cars with.???????? I said no I can actually smell the nicotine not just the smoke, but the actual nicotine. I am 56 years old. I know what cigarette smoke smells like. There was a woman attendant who had been helping renters, but was due to get off work at 4 o’clock. She went out with me, opened the door put her head in and said this is not smoke and sprayed some deodorizer for less than a second. Without another word, she turned around and walked away. She got in her car and left. There were other cars on the lot, but they would not give me another car because they were in a different class. (NOT luxury cars)The manager told me that I could have rental voided out and go someplace else. This is their response when one of their vehicle smells like smoke?? I had no choice. I had to have a car. I took it for that day and then I returned it early. I will never rent from you guys again your customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. And every time I was in the car for more than a few minutes I got a headache and was nauseous. I had five other people, my kids, a neighbor and a friend stick their head inside the car and tell me what they smelled. 100% of them said smoke. Do not rent from here go someplace else and pay a few dollars more. Well worth the extra money. For the insolence and the non-customer service, both attendants should be fired. I have rented another car from Enterprise. WOW what a difference

-there was only one attendant working and she had a lot to do. It was a long wait to get to her and then when we got our car it hadn’t been cleaned. It was very dirty. After about 40 minutes of them cleaning it my husband noticed that there was a screw in the tire and so they gave us a different car. It seems like they need more staff working there. It took us two hours to pick up our car. Also, the first car that they gave us was smaller than the size we rented.

Not a whole lot, the whole experience was pretty quick and efficient. I'd definitely use them again.

Wouldn't use this car rental if you gave it to me for free.

Reserved. Full sized SUV. Hertz sold vehicle. But. Didn't bother to have. Same sized replacement vehicle to be reserved.Got to airport. They tried to rent a full size passenger car. We rented full size SUV from Avis with cheaper price .

They didn’t actually have a car ready for me. Luckily another company did.

The car was clean, but not in the best condition with scratches upon pick up and what look like cigarette burn holes in the two front seats, etc.

The Subaru that I rented needs an alignment. It was somewhat hard to drive. The attendant at the Norfolk airport was not friendly at all and could tell she was not happy with her job. Customer service is everything.

I need my receipt for a expense report due two days ago. Where is my receipt?!?

It was difficult to find in the airport, I was lied to about the deposit and given the run around when it was time for my refund. I wouldnt suggest going there and if you do make sure you have about $300 extra dollars more than the cost of your rental even though I was told it was $200 for the deposit. Good luck!

The van itself was fine and pretty clean. Drop off was easy. The scheduled pick up at 9am on a Sunday took more than an hour and a half to have the vehicle, which then threw off my departure time. There was not a long line or wait. Just not enough staff and no progress made as to getting my rental.

Good experience. Easy drop off. Customer service with actual human beings is fantastic! Thank you for putting people first!

Had to cancel the rental and change travel plans because National does not accept debit for one-way rentals. Extremely inconvenient. Could have been avoided if the website would have made this policy clear when booking. Had no trouble booking a one-way with Avis instead. Thank goodness for them.
