It was nothing about Avis. I am only disappointed about Kayak. I selected airport pick up. After I waited a long long time, i was like 45mins to pick up my car. I was informed that I went to a wrong location. I do request pick up in airport but….. at that time is 3:48. Your receipt showed that the shop will close at 4:00. i took a taxi and tried to get the car. When I came to the shop it showed that the operation hour close at 5pm. I am very angry and disappointed what Kayak information. I cannot receive all the right information from Kayak.

First time using Kayak to rent Avis that I have rented with before. The front staff were very good to deal with as I watched them deal with other customers while waiting and my experience was no different. Other than the truck I rented having 'limited' km's it was new, clean and had no issues. I had to rent due to my own vehicle not being long distance worthy for a trip to visit family on long weekend. Unexpected extra money out of pocket but overall experience with Kayak and Avis went well.

Too much upselling at check out. Would not accept that I already bought insurance when booked rental. Kept trying to sell a tank of gas when I knew I’d return with a tank…No signs to navigate to car rentals from main exit of airport. Had to ask several people. Car dirty on pick up.

Good : upgraded (I did NOT request) clean, comfortable satndard SUV. NOT so good : 1 - Only 1 Budget representative to serve customers, while there were 5 persons waiting in line. I waited ~40 minutes until my turn. 2 - Budget representative offered an upgraded car (I did NOT request), & then tried to charge ~15%/$116 more. When I mentionned the difference, he tore down the contract & issued a new one, but he did not apologize. 3 - When I declined the Loss damage waiver & mentioned that the credit card insurance will cover, Budget representative said/threatened he will not talk with the insurance company & will charge the total cost of the car to my credit card. 4 - The car has a spare tirem but NO jack. The jack kit was taken out of the car. Budget iimposed a charge of $14/day for Roadside safety net/flat tire repair.

We felt bad when we dropped off the vehicle that the spikes ruined a tire. It's hard to see coming into the parkade from the bright sun, while looking for signage of where to go. A different system would be helpful, or signage warning about the spikes.

Everything went smoothly with easy pick up and drop off. The only issue we had was with the brakes after the 3rd day. They were making a thumping noise when we applied them going down steep inclines in the rockies and the steering wheel was vibrating. I was told by a mechanic that the issue was probably a warped rotor so he advised us to not ride the brakes going down a steep hill and to use them moderately.

I liked the upgrade and the drop-off procedure, however two days after the drop-off I got a phone call inquiring about my return date since Hertz had no records about my vehicle being returned. The car was not properly cleaned, windshield smudgy, seats full of stains. Nobody on hand at pick-up to explain the car features, i.e., no spare tire, how to release the parking break, how to open the hood, etc. The paperwork did not show the unlimited mileage, personnel ignorant, no intention to provide service.

We called prior to pickup to notify our flight was delayed to make sure they wouldn’t give our car away. They wanted to cancel and rebook the reservation. They canceled but then could not get a car because there were none available. We had to go with another company and had to pay double what our reservation was with kayak. Not happy with this experience. Also they refund was $100 less than what we paid. Will now have to fight with Hertz to fight for $ back. Not happy at all

The National Car Rental staff at the YYC (Calgary) were super efficient and helpful. We got a brand new Chrysler Pacifica. The car itself was excellent. The gas tank was only three-quarters full, however. We noted that as we were exiting. The lady at the exit was kind enough to mark it as only half full. The drop off was also great, with super friendly staff upon arrival. We very much recommend National Car Rental at YYC.
